Documentary helmed by New York-based filmmaker Ema Ryan Yamazaki with a crew from the US, which did long-term coverage leading up to the 100th year of the summer Koshien tournament. Broadcast nationwide in the US on the sports network ESPN in June 2020.
Hanamaki Higashi High School in Iwate Prefecture produced US Major League Baseball players Shohei Ohtani and Yusei Kikuchi. Yokohama Hayato is a high school in Kanagawa Prefecture. The film captures the joys and frustrations of baseball-obsessed boys and their coaches as the two schools vie for spots in the 100th Koshien tournament.
