Drama from the production team behind The Journalist, winner of six Japan Academy Prizes. Shows three periods in the life of a guy who decides to be yakuza amidst changing times.
Yamamoto (Ayano Go) enters into a filial relationship with the local yakuza boss, who helped him out when he was a youngster in desperate straits. Yamamoto climbs the yakuza ranks and finds his own "family" to love. However, the yakuza way of life transforms with the enactment of anti-organized crime laws. He fights his sworn enemies, and in the process loses that which is most precious.
