Crime suspense remake of the 2014 Korean film of the same name, directed by Fujii Michihito, who also directed The Newspaper Reporter.
On the night of 29 December, detective Kudo (Okada Junichi) on learning the news of his mother's death, who was in critical condition, accidentally runs over a man who jumps in front of his car. He puts the body in the boot of his car and leaves, and then attempts to burn the body at a funeral hall under the cover of his mother's funeral. At that moment, he receives a mysterious message from Yazaki (Ayano Go), an inspector at the prefectural police headquarters, suggesting a series of crimes.
