Sugitani Shogo's (aka "Human Plastic Model") identically titled comic is adapted into this feature animated film by writer/director Hirao Takayuki known for The Garden Of Sinners - Paradox Paradigm and others. The production gathers together the top creators of the animation industry.
Cinephile Gene (Shimizu Hiroya) works as a production assistant for film producer Pompo (Kohara Konomi). As he is immersed each day in filmmaking, Gene is chosen to direct the next film Pompo produces, "Meister".
