Based on Yamada Takatoshi's manga of the same name, this film version is a sequel to the TV drama series that aired in 2003 and 2006. The original cast and crew have returned, including Yoshioka Hidetaka in the lead role, director Nakae Isamu and screenwriter Yoshida Noriko.
Goto Kensuke (Yoshioka Hidetaka), known as "Dr. Coto," is the only doctor on Shikina Island, and has earned the trust of the islanders. He married his nurse, Hoshino (Shibasaki Kou), a few years ago, and they are expecting the birth of their child. A change creeps into their peaceful island life.
