[ Story ]

Kitano Takeshi spent 30 years planning this Warring States period film, which depicts the "Honno-ji Incident" on an epic scale. The film had its world premiere at the 37th Cannes Film Festival.
Oda Nobunaga (Kase Ryo), who is determined to unite the country, is engaged in a fierce battle with the Mori, Takeda and Uesugi armies, as well as the forces of temples and shrines in Kyoto. When his vassal Araki Murashige rebels and disappears, Nobunaga gathers Hashiba Hideyoshi (Kitano Takeshi), Akechi Mitsuhide (Nishijima Hidetoshi) and others together and orders them to search for Murashige using his inheritance as bait.
