Teruya Toshiyuki, known as Gori from the comedy duo Garage Sale, helms his first feature film since Born Bone Born, which was released six years ago and was selected for many international film festivals.
Satoru (Asano Tadanobu) develops dementia after his wife Machiko (Horiuchi Keiko) passes away. Daughter Mika (Matsuda Ruka) cannot forgive her father for not answering the phone when her mother called for help just before she died. When Mika learns that Satoru is facing death, she returns to her hometown on Iejima in Okinawa. There, she discovers her mother's diary.
