Live-action adaptation of Noda Satoru's manga of the same name. Set in Hokkaido just after the end of the Russo-Japanese War, this adventure film depicts the survival of the Ainu people and their vast reserves of gold.
Ex-soldier Sugimoto Saichi (Yamazaki Kento) spends all his time panning for gold, hoping to get rich quickly. At one point, he learns of the existence of a gold nugget said to have been stolen from the Ainu people, and of 24 escaped prisoners who have the code for its hiding place tattooed on their bodies. Then he meets an Ainu girl, Asirpa (Yamada Anna), who is looking for the gold to avenge her father's death, and so they decide to work together.
