Playwright-cum-director Peyounne Maki helms this documentary about the 2022 Suginami mayoral election in Tokyo.
Suginami resident Peyounne Maki started making this film when she faced eviction from the apartment where she had lived for many years due to a road expansion project. The film follows Kishimoto Satoko and the grassroots support from local residents in her narrow victory over the incumbent for the mayoral election in Suginami, a sizable locality with 570,000 residents and 470,000 eligible voters.
