[ Story ]
The story is derived from the "Bakeneko" episode of "Kai~Ayakashi" aired in 2006, which was part of Fuji TV's "Noitamina" programming block. The following year, it became a TV series called "Mononoke", which was then adapted into a completely new theatrical film.
The plot revolves around Asa (Kurosawa Tomoyo) and Kame (Yuki Aoi), two young women who step into the "Ooku" (the Inner Chambers of the Shogunate), a place where beautiful and talented women are gathered. In this place full of grudges, a tragic event occurs. The Medicine Seller (Kamiya Hiroshi), who has been chasing after the Mononoke, eventually uncovers a terrifying and sorrowful truth hidden within the Ooku.
