[ Story ]
This theatrical version of the NHK TV drama "After the Earthquake", based on Murakami Haruki's linked short stories, has been reconstructed with the addition of new scenes that connect the four eras.
In 1995, Komura, disturbed by his wife's disappearance, takes a strange journey in Kushiro. In 2011, Junko, a runaway girl, spends time with a man whose hobby was bonfires. In 2020, Yoshiya, raised within a devout religious group, begins to question the existence of his absent father. In 2025, a giant frog-like creature known as "Kakeru-kun" reappears before a security guard who lives in a manga café.
