[ Story ]

A special version of Cinema Kabuki which shows kabuki performances on the big cinema screen. This film introduces the Kunqu opera "Botan-tei (Peony Pavilion)" which Bando Tamasaburo performed in March 2009 in Suzhou, China, as well as the documentary footage of his days in China during that time. Du Li-niang (Bando Tamasaburo), the daughter of tycoon Nan'an Taishou, meets a young man named Liu Meng-mei and instantaneously falls in love with him. However, this only took place in a spring dream, and Du Liniang suffers from her unattainable love for Liu Meng-mei. She eventually falls seriously ill and leaves this world...
