The eighth film of "Cinema Kabuki" where kabuki stage performances filmed digitally with an HD camera are screened at movie theaters. This work about the deep love of married couples has a rich cast lineup and is a heart-grabbing masterpiece by Hasegawa Shin, who wrote many plays both before and after the Second World War. The work depicts the touching drama of Hantaro (Nakamura Kanzaburo), a natural born gambler who is chased out of Edo, Onaka (Bando Tamasaburo), a wife worried about the future of her husband with an incurable disease, and Same no Seigoro Oyabun (Kataoka Nizaemon), the macho boss of a gambling parlor.
