The sequel to Shrill Cries of Summer (Higurashi no naku koro ni), a film adaptation of a computer game popular among junior high and high school students. As in the previous work, this film too is directed by Oikawa Ataru who is demonstrating his shining talent in horror films. A young girl Rena (Matsuyama Airi), who moved to a small village after the divorce of her parents, murders Ritsuko (Yoshioka Miho), her father's lover. She buries the dead body with the help of Keiichi (Maeda Gouki) and five other classmates who witnessed the crime. However, a chain of horrendous incidents start happening around Rena, now with a mental breakdown from paranoia.
