[ Story ]
Takayama Tsugio (Taniuchi Shinya) is having a very boring time in his university preparatory courses at high school. One day at school, he easily climbs up to the top of the school flagpole to take down his classmate's trousers, which were hung up there as a practical joke. Hisanaga Isamu (Kaneko Kyohei) sees Tsugio's skill at climbing and wants to use his talents on the Pole Toppling team at the upcoming gymnastic school event. Isao is desperate to have Tsugio as a vanguard for the game to have the last laugh on the students belonging to the vocational department. He's always been bothered by the vocational department laughing at students in regular courses. At first, Tsugio doesn't show any interest in Pole Toppling, but he gradually works at it as a way to make his hidden feelings known toward his classmate Sayuri, as well as to release his anger and frustration toward his parents. Tsugio then finds out that Isamu has chronic heart disease. He decides to put his all of his efforts into the Pole Toppling event to make Isamu and Sayuri proud.
