[ Story ]

The 300 million yen robbery case, the biggest mystery of the Showa era, happened in 1968, and remains unsolved to this day. This is the film adaptation of Nagase Shunsuke's crime novel that sheds new light on the mystery. Director Ito Shunya, who also dealt with factual content in To Trap a Kidnapper (Yukai Hodo), provides a suspenseful depiction of the persistence of the detectives, as they try to solve the case. Katagiri (Watanabe Dai), a highly ambitious young detective, teams up with older detective Takiguchi (Okuda Eiji), who is about to retire, to investigate a murder that took place by Sumida River. Katagiri is annoyed by Takiguchi's pushiness, but is surprised to hear that the victim was a suspect in the 300 million yen robbery.
