Following on from Wada Ben, Shindo Kaneto (screenwriter), and Wakamatsu Koji, three masters of their craft, the uncanny director Fukasaku Kenta makes this addition to the Education series, taking up the challenge of using new 3D techniques to create an unprecedented film where "the sensuality jumps out from the screen." The lead actors have ample experience working on productions exploring contemporary themes and have created a pure love story that brings out the sense of entrapment of Japan today. Kabashima (Yanagi Kotaro) lives in and manages a manga cafe, and is secretly attracted to Ichigo-chan (Ayano), who works in a "maid cafe." One day she faints, and Kabashima brings her home and confines her in a room. Ichigo-chan resists at first, but gradually her heart accepts Kabashima's dedicated love, and after a while she starts to guide the late bloomer.
