A documentary that has been the center of much attention in international film festivals, and was also selected in the CULT Award Competition in the 27th Torino Film Festival. In constant conflict with his father, director Kotani Tadasuke goes to Okinawa in search of his own roots. In the Koza Yoshiwara red-light district, Kotani films the scars inflicted on the girls who work there. These scars overlap with Kotani's own anguish. Kotani's previous films have been fictional works and this is his first documentary. LINE is not your usual social criticism type documentary, nor is it an autobiographical documentary. It leaves you with an impression that is hard to describe.
