[ Story ]
A documentary produced by Motohashi Seiichi, director of Alexei and the Spring (Alexei to Izumi) and directed by up-and-comer Hanabusa Aya. The film quietly depicts how locals live their daily lives in Iwaishima, Kaminoseki-cho of Yamaguchi Prefecture. The island has been hailed as the land of holy spirits since ancient times, and the residents there have tackled harsh conditions and lived with nature while being supported by the blessings of the fertile Seto Inland Sea. They have been fighting against the plan to establish a nuclear power plant across the sea from the island for the past 28 years, claiming the only things they need is the sea and the mountains. The sound design is also rather special and closely captures various sounds from everyday life.
