[ Story ]
This is the second live-action film directed by the charismatic manga artist, Egawa Tatsuya, of the film University of Tokyo Story (Tokyo Daigaku Monogatari). The film takes as its motif a locked room mystery and a game in which a "king" is chosen by drawing lots whose instructions must be followed by the other players in the game. One remarkable aspect of this film is the improvised acting by a cast of 10 individualistic actors and actresses. A group of 10 very different and complicated young men and women decide to play the King Game for 10 days in a row. The group includes Suzu (Ishida Takuya), a taciturn boy; Chekhov (Ashina Sei), a well-read girl; and Yamazaki (Kimura Yoshino), a former doctor. However, gradually the game begins to deviate from its usual path: but for what purpose?
