[ Story ]

An interpersonal drama from director Kawase Naomi, whose The Mourning Forest captured the 2007 Cannes International Film Festival's Grand Prix. Its setting is Nara Prefecture's Asuka region, home to three mountains known as the Yamato Sanzan which have been regarded as the resting place of gods since ancient times. The story depicts the relationships between a woman and the two men who love her - switching between events in the past and the present - as well as the region's beautiful nature and atmosphere.
Kayoko (Oshima Hako) has lived with her partner Tetsuya (Akikawa Tetsuya) for many years, while also loving another man, Takumi (Komizu Tota). When she reveals this, her peaceful existence begins to change.
