[ Story ]
In April of 2010, the curtain fell on the 59-year-old Kabuki-za Theater in Ginza, Tokyo, which was to be demolished and rebuilt. This documentary conveys the spirit of the Kabuki-za, which functioned as a dedicated theater for traditional Japanese performing arts for over four centuries, and as a social hub for ladies and gentlemen. It closely observes its Farewell Performances, from the "Koshiki Kaoyose Teuchishiki" ceremony in January 2009 to the closing ceremony on April 30th 2010, and also features interviews with 11 Kabuki stars including Ichikawa Danjuro, as well as never-seen-before footage of rehearsals and much more.
