A film by Omori Kazuki, a two-time Japanese Academy Award winner for Best Director, shot totally on location in Aomori Prefecture. Fujimori Shingo and Nakata Atsuhiko of comedy duo Oriental Radio play the lead roles in this heartwarming humanistic drama based on the popular novel by Morisawa Akio. Its story unfolds while moving back and forth between the past and present. In 1909, Omori Kenji (Nakata) pulls a cart selling Tsugaru soba noodles. In the present day, Yoichi (Fujimori) is the fourth-generation heir to the business but he chooses not to take it on, and lives a life of his own choosing in Tokyo instead...
