Sakai Daisuke and his girlfriend Shimada Hisako have failed at selling a smelly health drink named Akajiru in Tokyo, amassing five million yen in debts. In order to recover financially, they retreat to Daisuke's island hometown. They plan to get help from Daisuke's parents and friends and use his local connections, but the response is cold to say the least. Daisuke's ex-girlfriend and her younger sister complicate matters in his relationship. The couple reconciles, but their final bid to sell the rancid red juice is a disaster. They give up trying to succeed in the country and go back to Tokyo to face the music. Soon after, Daisuke's younger brother runs into the couple wearing stockings over their heads and brandishing knives - ready for a robbery.
The second feature film from director Yamashita Nobuhiro, well-known on the international festival circuit and whose first feature Hazy Life won the Grand Prix for independent films at the Yubari Fantastic Film Festival in the year 2000.
