A drama about a young woman whose upbringing was tainted by a sex crime. Its use of lyrical imagery to depict its protagonist's struggle has drawn attention at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and elsewhere. Its director and writer is Sakaguchi Katsumi, who has extensive experience in making television documentaries. Kotono (Hirano Mariko) was raped at the age of 15, and gave birth to a daughter, Natsume. 17 years after the incident, Natsume (Hirano Mariko) begins a search for the rapist together with Kotono (Komagata Miyuki), now 32 years old and mute, and her physically disabled grandfather Kai (Iwao Takushi).
