A coming-of-age drama depicting the miserable fortunes of a 15-year-old boy and girl, directed by Sono Sion COLD FISH . Adapted from Furuya Minoru's manga, this film marks a departure for Sono whose previous works had been based on original screenplays. Stars Sometani Shota and Nikaidou Fumi received the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best New Young Actor and Actress at the 68th Venice International Film Festival.
Sumida Yuichi (Sometani) just wants to grow up to become a normal adult, while his classmate Chazawa Keiko (Nikaidou) is madly in love with him. Their fates take an unexpected turn when Sumida's father re-enters his life after racking up debt and disappearing.
