Live-action adaptation of Obata Yuuki's romantic comic, which has sold over 10 million copies. Touchingly depicts six years of the turbulent love between a boy and girl who meet at a high school in Kushiro. The first installment focuses on the protagonists' high school days, and earned 2.5 billion yen at the box office.
High school junior Nanami (Yoshitaka Yuriko) becomes classmates with Yano (Ikuta Toma), who is well known for his good looks. She falls in love when Yano fleetingly reveals a sad expression, but it turns out that in the past he lost his older lover in an accident.
