[ Story ]

Drama delving into the persona of Jishu Buddhism founder Ippen, known for his "dancing Buddhist prayers." Danceable depiction of the monk who chanted Buddhist prayers while dancing as he traveled around to different places during the Kamakura period. Celebrated for the edgy casting, including a comedian as the lead and various musicians in supporting roles. Ippen (Udo Suzuki) decides to travel around proselytizing "unity with Buddha" to the people. He heads for Kamakura with his wife Choichi (Miyashita Kyoko) and others, but along the way Choichi suddenly performs a dance at a samurai residence in Saku. With this, Ippen begins his dancing Buddhist incantations.
