A documentary film that profiles animator Sugii Gisaburo, who has been involved in the creation of numerous masterpieces since the early days of Japanese animation. Its director is Ishioka Masato, who displayed his talent for delving into the inner lives of his subjects in his previous film Yoyochu in the Land of the Rising Sex. Sugii, one of the giants of Japanese animation, has worked on an array of immortal classics including {Astro Boy} and {Dororo}. As the film illuminates the unwavering philosophy of this still very active creator, the history of Japanese animation comes to light.
