[ Story ]
A documentary on legendary photographer Fukushima Kikujiro, who has trained his viewfinder on Japan's turbulent post-war period from his own unique perspective. It follows him closely over a three-year period, continuing to work tirelessly despite being in his neineties.
Photojournalist Fukushima Kikujiro began his career after Japan's defeat in World War II by shooting photos of victims of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. He has continued to capture moments that epitomize the era, such as the student occupation of Tokyo University's Yasuda Hall and the Asama Sanso mountain lodge hostage crisis. Having begun to sense that he is reaching the end of his time on Earth, he takes up his camera once again to report on the nuclear accident in Fukushima following the Great East Japan Earthquake.
