[ Story ]
The sixteenth film in the legendary comic film series about two elderly fishermen who catch more trouble than fish.
Fishing fools, Su-san (Mikuni Rentaro), the President of the Suzuki Construction Company, and his employee, Hama-chan (Nishida Toshiyuki) are supposed to attend the opening of a bridge Suzuki's company built in the town of Sasebo and then go fishing afterwards. However, when Hama-chan sees the sea, he forgets completely about the opening ceremony for the new bridge. He makes arrangements to rent a boat with Tatsuya (Kaneko Noboru), one of the local salesmen and Tatsuya's girlfriend (Ito Misaki). Two days later, however, Su-san learns that Hama-chan is missing and the whole thing blows up into an international incident. It turns out that Hama-chan got drunk with an American soldier and followed him back to his boat. When Hama-chan wakes up, he finds himself in the middle of the ocean on an American battleship, heading for Hawaii.
