[ Story ]
An adaptation of a novella by politician and author Ishihara Shintaro, who initiated the project himself. Set in the Aokigahara forest, a famous suicide spot at the foot of Mt. Fuji, it presents a fantastical portrayal of tragic romances involving the men and women who ended their own lives there. Its director is Shinjo Taku, who previously adapted two other works by Ishihara.
Matsumura (Katsuno Hiroshi), who searches for dead bodies in Aokigahara every year, goes to a bar on the night before he heads to the forest and meets a man (Yashiba Toshihiro) who says he wants to go along with him. They begin their search the next day, and amid the trees they discover the corpse of the man, who has been dead for two years.
