Documents the daily lives of people who lived in an irradiated district in the immediate aftermath of the nuclear power plant over a period of one year and eight months. Director Shinomiya Hiroshi won the Best Documentary Award at the 44th International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg for {Scavenger 1995: Forgotten Children}. Forced to evacuate after their neighborhood is designated as being contaminated, the Takahashi family fall victim to even more misfortunes at the evacuation site. One dairy farmer commits suicide, leaving behind his anger at the nuclear power plant scrawled in words, while a livestock breeder in the evacuation zone continues to raise 300 cattle, and demands compensation from the Tokyo Electric Power Company.
