[ Story ]

A drama based on a real-life incident involving pension fraud. It exposes the darkness in a society in which people are cut adrift, as seen in the tragic existence of a father with three months left to live and his depression-stricken son who lives off his pension payments. Its director, Kobayashi Masahiro, has dealt with social issues in many of his previous films.
Fujio (Nakadai Tatsuya), a pensioner whose cancer has metastatized, forcibly discharges himself from hospital despite the objections of his doctor. He announces that he will become a "mummy," and locks himself in his bedroom. His son Yoshio (Kitamura Kazuki), who has lost his job, his wife, and his child, is at a loss at how to deal with his father's abrupt and bizarre behavior...
