A fully CG-animated adaptation of Matsumoto Leiji's science fiction manga. This ambitious work boasts the largest budget in the history of Toei Animation at $30 million dollars, and follows the swashbuckling adventures of a steadfastly principled space pirate. Its director is Aramaki Shinji APPLESEED, and its screenplay is by author Fukui Harutoshi who is also known as the creator of "Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn".
Yama (voice: Miura Haruma), a young man who belongs to an organization that governs space, infiltrates the crew of a battleship captained by former military man Harlock (voice: Oguri Shun). In order to carry out his assassination mission, he secretly observes the pirate.
