[ Story ]

A feature documentary based on a twice-broadcast television documentary that was re-edited to include additional footage. It follows a freelance writer caring for his mother with senile dementia, and sends a warning about a society with no systems in place to support those who provide care for others.
Noda Akihiro, a freelance writer and only child, lives at home with his mother who has been diagnosed with senile dementia. The only income he can rely on is his mother's pension. Just as he is beginning to carry out research for a book about sons caring for their elderly parents, he receives a totally unexpected phone call.
