The first entry in the new "Pokémon the movie XY" series. The previous sixteen Pokémon films were massive hits that made a total of 71.2 billion yen at the box office. Series veteran Yuyama Kunihiko returns to the director's chair.
In Diamond Domain, the home of "Jewel Pokémon" called Melecie, diamonds are a sacred power source, but their energy is in danger of running out. In order to save its princess, Diancie (voice: Matsumoto Marika), Satoshi (voice: Matsumoto Rika) and his friends set off on a journey to find the legendary Pokémon Xerneas (voice: Mita Yoshiko).
