Live-action adaptation of the popular novel by Naoki Prize winner Shigematsu Kiyoshi. Depicts down-and-out adults going after the ball once again, based on the Masters Koshien baseball tournament that draws former high school baseball players. The climactic baseball scene was shot at the actual Koshien Stadium.
Sakamachi (Nakai Kiichi), a 46-year-old who played baseball in high school, is approached by Mie (Haru), the daughter of his former teammate. She found new year's cards spanning 27 years addressed to Sakamachi and other teammates in her deceased father's mementos, and claims to be trying to figure out their significance, but…
