Drama based on American author Edward Mooney, Jr.'s "The Pearls of the Stone Man." The powerful bond between a long-married couple is warmly depicted amidst the natural scenery of Hokkaido. Official selection for the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival.
Atsushi (Sato Koichi) closes his workshop in Tokyo and relocates to Hokkaido for a leisurely retirement with his wife Ryoko (Higuchi Kanako). However, he doesn't know what to do with his free time, and concerned Ryoko proposes that he build a stone wall for their home. Meanwhile, Ryoko's heart ailment gets worse…
