[ Story ]

After 13 Assassins and Sukiyaki Western Django, master filmmaker Takashi Miike comes back to the big screen with a Sci-Fi action film where a set of crew members battle against evolved cockroaches on Mars. The film is based on the best-selling comic series "TERRAFORMARS", which has been published worldwide and also turned into an animation series and its second season is running in 2016.
Slum-dwelling Shokichi (Ito Hideaki) commits a crime of murder to protect Nanao (Takei Emi), the girl he cares for. In a deal which would allow them to avoid conviction but get a reward, they agree to be a part of a top secret mission ? the extermination of cockroaches sent to Mars with mosses 500 years ago to colonize Mars. Including Shokichi, 15 destitute people assembled for the task land on Mars with hopes of a better future. However, Shokichi finds out that cockroaches have evolved into huge creatures with unbelievable strength.
