Shimada Soji's detective novel series becomes a theatrical film following its dramatization for television. A neurologist hailed as the Japanese Sherlock Holmes takes on a difficult case linked to the sea. In the director's chair is Izumi Seiji who is well known from the "Aibou" police drama series.
Over the course of six months in the Seto Inland Sea, 6 bodies have washed up on a small island belonging to Ehime Prefecture. Mitarai (Tamaki Hiroshi), a neurologist who does detective work as a pastime, is informed of this by Miyuki (Hirose Alice) and immediately heads for the island. He perceives the bodies had drifted there from Fukuyama City in Hiroshima Prefecture.
