The film adaptation of the identically titled novel by Setouchi Jakucho (real name: Setouchi Harumi) who is called the "womb writer". It sensually depicts a married woman becoming attracted to her husband's superior against the backdrop of Kyoto immediately after the war. In the director's chair is Ando Hiroshi, who depicted the sexual relationship between a teenage boy and girl in Undulant Fever.
Sonoko (Murakawa Eri), who married the fiancee chosen by her parents, moves to Kyoto when her now husband, Amemiya (Hayashi Kento), relocates there for his job. Falling in love with Amemiya's superior, Ochi (Ando Masanobu), Sonoko becomes completely absorbed in her relationship with him, opening the doors to pleasures of the flesh.
