[ Story ]

Suspense film adaptation of a novel by bestselling author Higashino Keigo. A researcher fights to recapture a stolen biological weapon. Helmed by television director Yoshida Teruyuki.
The illegal biological weapon known as K-55 is stolen from a university laboratory and the culprit demands ransom with the public held as hostages. Head researcher Kuribayashi Kazuyuki (Abe Hiroshi) is charged with the mission of recapturing the weapon and immediately launches an investigation, but the culprit is already dead. Kuribayashi figures out the locale of the weapon based on clues left behind and heads for a ski resort.
