The GEKI X CINE series screens works by the popular theater group Gekidan Shinkansen, known for furious on-stage combat and flashy concert-style direction. This digitally remaster edition was produced to commemorate the theater troupe's 35th year anniversary and presents the 2003 production that kicked off the series.
The late Edo period. Special operations "Oni Mikado" exorcist Wakuraba Izumo (Ichikawa Somegoro) fights demons in secret, but an incident propels him to throw everything away and apprentice with Tsuruya Nanboku's kabuki troupe. Then, he meets a mysterious woman named Tsubaki (Amami Yuki).
