[ Story ]

A 16 year-old-girl, Yoshiko (Nozaki Yoshimi), is a trainee gardener. Her face resembles that of a gorilla, she is forceful, selfish, and she is a loner. A good-looking German boy works alongside her as a trainee, but she is shouted at by the master gardener and called a "gorillaman" every day. Nonetheless, she does not seem to care what others think. Her dream is to become a singer. She has been composing her own pieces with her recorder and building up her portfolio since elementary school. She writes about the trauma of other people around her, such as a school boy who wants to become a woman, a hardheaded high school girl, and a sewage worker. While aspiring to become a singer, Yoshiko carries on forcefully leading her life.
The main character, Yoshiko, does not get daunted by anything, but keeps looking straight ahead, and pursues her own path. Her daily life does not succumb to trauma as depicted by Yokohama Satoko, for whom this is the first theatrical movie. Yokohama made this movie independently with the 500,000 yen she was awarded for her Chiemi and Kokkunpatcho, a short graduation piece at the Film School of Tokyo, which won the Best Film Award in the Open Competition section at the Cineastes Organization Osaka EX(CO2) in 2006.
