[ Story ]
When Saya's parents died several years before she was left with her blind younger brother and sister. Assisted by his sister blind Minoru acquires confidence in himself and shows great talent as a violinist.
Minoru has a pen friend named Johan in Vienna who is a member of the Vienna Boys' Choir. A postcard from him conveys the good news that the Choir will visit Japan and so Minoru decides to arrange a popular Japanese song, "Itsuka Kita Michi" and present it to his Viennese friend.
Unfortunately, however, Minoru falls ill just before the Choir reaches Japan and is not expected to live. Saya tries hard to invite the Choir to her city so that Minoru can see Johan before his death .
Twenty-four boys of the Choir visit Saya's home and sing for Minoru. The next day they perform at the city hall and while they sing, Minoru peacefully ends his short life. "Itsuka Kita Michi" arranged by the blind violinist is sung by the Choir accompanied by Miyo, Minoru's younger sister, on her violin as if a requiem for him.
