[ Story ]
Tokyo with its large modern buildings is filled with white-collar workers caught in the feverish rat race to climb the ladder of success. But one misstep, a few sweet stolen moments, and even the ablest of men can topple from the highest rung and bear the scars for the rest of his life.
Satoru Fuji is a good example. Handsome, outstanding in his work, he is marked for promotion. One can hardly blame him for his roving eyes when women literally throw themselves at him.
When the right girl appears, he borrows from a woman doctor and writes an I. O. U., then learns that she belongs to another man.
The woman doctor is murdered and Fuji is suspected because of the I. O. U.
He cannot involve the girl, so he has no alibi. Eventually he discovers the killer, but finds himself without a job or a future.
