[ Story ]
After the surrender in August 1945, the Japanese residents in Manchuria fell into the hands of the enemy forces. The volunteer nurses soon attract the attention of the occupation troops and they are drafted to a medical relief station. Then a group of five nurses are sent to another medical relief centre and a month later another five girls follow them. But although ostensibly nurses they are really intended as comfort girls for the troops. And when the remaining nurses realize this they compose a farewell poem,
"Our hearts are pure forever
As the blossom
Which soon will bloom
Then fade and die."
After which they take their own lives rather than live in dishonour.
