Jiro Takabe had spent 5 years in prison in taking the blame for his elder brother. Six months before Jiro's release his brother was killed and now he is bent on revenge.
Jiro suspects his brother's former henchmen, Omura and Sakazaki, but he has no proof.
Jiro saves Haruo in a fight, and learns that Hama, the brother of Tamiko, his sweetheart, and a former friend, has reformed and is running an eating house. When Jiro tells Hama that he is going to revenge his brother, Hama's face clouds painfully.
Checking on the incidents leading to his brother's death, Jiro learns that his car had been blown up by dynamite and that the mechanic who had done the job, had been silenced by death.
From Takamura, the dead mechanic's friend, Jiro forces the truth that Omura and Sakazaki were behind his brother's death. He hands Takamura over to the police, but, he commits suicide.
Jiro decides to have a showdown with Omura, but as he is about to question him at gun point the gangster is riddled with shots from a passing car. Sakazaki then appears in his car and accuses Jiro of killing Omura, and Jiro becomes a fugitive.
With the help of Hama, Jiro lures Sakazaki out from a boxing match to obtain a written confession, but he is thwarted by Sakazaki's henchman.
Confident that he has the upper hand, Sakazaki tells Jiro that he killed his brother because he had killed his own boss. Jiro now realizes the true nature of gangsters and decides to reform.
