[ Story ]
Towards the end of the Second World War a cache of jewels is stolen by a high-ranking officer named Takashima. Years later he offers them for sale to Tachihara, head of a financial group, and in return becomes managing director. The latter, hearing that someone wants to steal the jewels again, appoints Yamawaki as security man.
Yamawaki was originally a member of the Intelligence Bureau of the Home Ministry but he resigned because he disliked the job and was in love. In the meantime the Intelligence Bureau has sent out a new agent, Yabuki, to recover the jewels and return them to their rightful owner. They were loot plundered by Japanese troops and now rightfully belong to the newly formed country of Lavarea. But the statute of limitations runs out in three days after which the country will have no further legal claim.
Yamawaki and Yabuki fight it out for the jewels not knowing that an international smuggling syndicate is also after them. In the melee the girl that Yamawaki loved is killed and he swears revenge. One of the ways he does this is by saving Yabuki, but he is not quick enough to save the jewels which are lost forever in a massive explosion.
